SILVER - 2022 Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show
|"Ink-black core of colour that barely fades to the rim. Blackberry and dark chocolate aromatics. Rich and weighty on entry with ripe dark berry fruit and chocolate undertones filling the palate. The structure is robust enough to control the weight and it finishes medium in length but with a good drying brush of tannins to clean the lines." SILVER 90 points Stuart Knox, The Real Review
"No problem ripening durif in the Alpine Valleys in ’21, with this wine weighing in at 15% abv. It sets the scene for a dark and brooding style that also gives life to the grape's beautiful aromatics. Deep red-purple hues. The bouquet brings forth briar, rosemary, earth and blue and black berries. Warm and textural across the tongue with generous tannins keeping everything in line. Not so much big as cuddly and, for the durif-phobes, not scary in the least." SILVER 90 points Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion website
