Alpine Road 2022 Shiraz

Fragrant blackberry, cherry and peppery spice aromas lead to a full, generous fruit palate. Rich chocolate, subtle oak and an exotic spicy edge provide style and balance, finishing long and warm.

The fruit for the 2022 Shiraz was picked in late March at 14.2° baumé. The grapes were picked in the cool early morning and fermented with specially selected yeast to extract and preserve their unique flavour expression. Regular pump overs continued for about 12 days with ferment temperatures reaching a peak of 26°C. The wine underwent MLF and oak maturation to build structure, complexity and varietal character.

Alpine Road

The Great Alpine Road stretches across Victoria’s North-East, from the country town of Wangaratta over the Victorian Alps to the coastal settlement of Bairnsdale. The Alpine Road range of wines takes you on a similar journey. Visit a favourite place or discover an exciting new destination along a road less travelled.

Our packaging pays homage to history of the Great Alpine Road and the original Tobacco Road label while introducing a fresh colour palate and layered textures. It is a celebration of the journey of joyful discovery that is reflective of our Alpine Road wines.

This wine is currently only available in New South Wales and Queensland and will progressively become available in Victoria and online.
