"Durif calls northeast Victoria home and, contrary to common opinion, the grape can present a number of styles from the medium bodied to the rich and ample. This wine lies closer to the former, boasting a savoury cooler-climate interpretation of the variety. Wood smoke, blue fruits, earth, prune and leather are strong varietally. It's the spice that draws you in on the palate, so enticing and lingering against a smoky, clove oak backdrop. The variety's prominent tannins remain as ever on guard, but in the background."
