It is the final push with the last remaining fruit coming in this week. Of note is the Estate Grand Manseng and Saperavi that will be harvested along with the balance of our Alpine Valleys reds. We are very encouraged with our reds: intense and elegant flavours, natural acid balance and fine, ripe tannins all pointing to strong ageing potential.

2024 Vintage Crew - Aussies Lochie & Mick.
Lochie has been at Gapsted Estate since he moved to the region in November last year, you may have met him at cellar door! He’d been splitting his time between the cellar door and cellar/winery for the past few months before joining the 2024 vintage crew. Lochie enjoys the variety of being able to work with the customers at cellar door as well as being involved in the production side and making the wine. He’s really loved working with the eclectic bunch that make up this year’s vintage crew and that the winemakers and cellar hands are all really easy to work with. Lochie is loving our adventurous region with mountain trail runs a favourite pastime and snowboarding on the agenda for winter.
We also welcome back Mick for his 11th vintage at Gapsted Estate! It’s a good break from his work in a vineyard and he enjoys being back and working with the press crew. The boost to his savings will help him escape winter and enjoy a second summer overseas!
