High Country 2021 Chardonnay SILVER

Our High Country 2021 Chardonnay picked up another Silver medal at the recent Winestate Magazine 2022 Chardonnay Wine Show.

Here's Senior Winemaker Michael Cope-Williams' insight into why everyone is loving this wine.

"Our 2021 vintage is made from Chardonnay from our two highest and latest ripening vineyards in Cheshunt and Whitfield. The Cheshunt juice was fermented on full solids in new French Oak and went through partial Malo on lees. The Whitfield juice was settled and “dirty racked” to barrel and fermented with several “wild” Burgundy yeasts. What’s most appealing to me is the funky yet restrained aromas of passionfruit, citrus, melon, grass, and brine all wrapped up in the warm richness of fresh chardonnay flavours. The acidity is tight, and refreshing and for sure, the wine will still look terrific in 4 or 5 years."
