According to wine journalist Dan Traucki, our 2021 High Country Tempranillo has a "Lovely cool climate aromatic bouquet of mulberries & raspberries + a hint of toasty oak, cherry flavours with a dash of mocha on the tasty palate + a delightful well-rounded finish. EXTREMELY PLEASANT DRINKING!”
Winemaker Toni Pla Bou says: "Our 2021 High Country Tempranillo is a single vineyard wine that is ideally situated in the Myrrhee sub-region of the King Valley. The 2021 vintage was an excellent cool vintage that resulted in a medium to full bodied wine with excellent varietal expression. It shows Mulberry, Boysenberry, and some floral notes as well as a background of toast, vanilla and spice from oak maturation. The palate is rich and spicey with forest fruit flavours and lively fine tannins. A vibrant wine that drinks excellently now but can be kept for the next five years. The High Tempranillo pairs well with mountain paella, as well as roast leg of goat or lamb with a rocket salad."
