The Growers Behind the Wines
Our Valley Selection wines are built on decades of grower partnerships across Victoria. These aren’t transactional relationships; they’re long-term collaborations based on trust, shared pursuit of excellence, and respect for the land.
The King Valley vineyard, established in 1977 by the Cavedon family, exemplifies this approach. Situated at over 400 metres above sea level with gently sloping east-facing rows, it benefits from red volcanic soils enriched with decaying basalt. These soils retain water naturally, helping the vines through warm summers, while the nearby mountains provide shade that slows ripening and protects the canopy. Careful vineyard management ensures the fruit develops balance, structure, and expressive aromatics.

Spotlight on the Valley Selection 2024 Pinot Noir
Our 2024 Pinot Noir is sourced exclusively from the Cavedon family’s King Valley vineyard. The combination of volcanic soils, elevation, and careful vine management creates a wine with lifted cherry and red mulberry aromas, refined yet powerful structure, and silky varietal tannins.
On the palate, you’ll find layers of dark cherry, oak spice, bittersweet cocoa, and subtle hints of lavender and exotic incense. The wine evolves in the glass, rewarding patience with new flavours and complexity. Best served at 14–16°C, it pairs beautifully with slow-cooked dishes such as Greek Rabbit Stew (Kouneli Stifado), or can be enjoyed on its own to appreciate the vineyard’s signature character
