A wonderful pale straw colour with hints of green hues. The nose offers up an abundance of Nashi pear, red apple, melon and freshly cut white flowers. The palate displays intense flavours of guava, pear, melon and grapefruit with a crisp acid backbone leading to a finish that is clean and refreshing.
Pinot Grigio, the grape variety and wine style, is grown and produced successfully in the Northeast of Italy. It has found a thriving home in Victoria’s cool climate regions and surrounding wine regions that has led to the production of wines that are both expressive and refined. Alpine Road, embracing the authentic Italian approach to Pinot Grigio, crafts a wine that is crisp and refreshing, with vibrant fruit flavours and a clean finish. This style not only honours the grape’s Italian heritage but also showcases the unique characteristics imparted by
Victoria’s distinctive terroir.
THE VINTAGE
The 2024 vintage, shaped by climatic challenges, showcases the skill and resilience of our winemaking team, and the dedicated growers in a multi region fruit sourcing approach. A wet spring led to a warm, sunny vintage period that was condensed and completed by Easter. While yields were down 20% against long-term averages, the quality of both sparkling, whiteand red wines excelled, with aromatics, flavours and acidity promising a year of outstanding wines.
