This wine displays a classic tawny colour. The nose shows rich stewed fruit aromas with a hint of citrus and spice. The palate is full of rich complex flavours with hints of citrus peel, crushed walnuts and toasty vanilla bean. A fortified offering beautifully balanced fruit and oak tannin with a warm lingering finish.
"A shiraz-led blend, mostly from 2002 and 2008 vintages, but some 1999 in there too. Matured in American and French oak for an average of 15 years. 750ml. Great to see more producers taking fortified production seriously, including long-term maturation. Medium brick red in colour. Combines some mature wood-aged toffee and walnut notes with raisined grape, dried fruit, prune and espresso. Clean, well made, spirit fresh and fruit bright." Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion
